Old photos at Roker Park
Old photos at Roker Park
Can anyone tell me what match this is and on what date it was played? It says on the negatives April 1977 but it may be a year or two before that.

Re: Old photos at Roker Park
Those pictures are not of Roker Park stadium, Sunderland, it's at Carrow Road when we played Norwich.
So these are from the 14th of May 1977.
We were not in the same league in 1976.
I can identify our goalkeeper Barry Siddall in picture three and he was not part of our squad before 1976.

Roker Park
The OP is obviously not familiar with our old ground.
I'm laughing with not at by the way.

Re: Old photos at Roker Park
Thanks for the help on tracking that one down. It's the memory . Do you know I can't ever remember going to see Norwich at Carrow Rd. In the 76-77 season I lived in Birmingham at the time and my partner, from Houghton le Spring lived in Leeds. I used to meet her in Leeds and we would hitch hike up from Leeds on a Saturday morning to see the home matches . We went to a lot of away ones as well and probably met up with some of the family travelling down from Wearside

Re: Old photos at Roker Park
It's good that you kept these pictures, never destroy them.
I can't help with this one although it looks like Roker Park and the advertising board for the Mill Garage is another clue.
Would that be Pop Robson in the number 10 shirt, I recognise the hair
The tall one looks like Mel Holden.
Is the number 6 Ian Porterfield?
I think I will pass on this one but I would say it is Roker Park.
