An increase of 1,873 which is over 500 a week.

This is just as bad as when we were in total lockdown so don't ask me why we have lifted all the restrictions.
When you consider that there are no restrictions and we can all mingle again that's not surprising.
That figure will be a lot higher because loads of the young kids will not know they have it or don't bother getting tested for hardly any symptoms.

What was that you said again?

The last time I posted here (late August 2021), the City of Sunderland which includes Washington, Houghton and Hetton had a total of 34,410 known cases of COVID-19.

Five months on and that figure has become 85,890.
The City of Sunderland has a population of around 300,000 so that means we are nearly at a point where one in three will have had Coronavirus.

With the vaccination helping to stop hospitalisations, the virus isn't as bad now should you get it.
All restrictions will end shortly so we are well on the way to herd immunity.
The chances are that we will all come into contact with it at some stage but at least the problems connected to catching it is minimised now.

ENJOY OUR NEW FREEDOM

Aye but once it has touched us all, many will still die due to complications etc.
I agree though that it will touch us all, it's how our bodies react to it really.
