The planning, design and access statement goes on to say: “The application seeks to provide new, high quality development on previously developed land, in a highly sustainable location bringing with it significant social, economic and environmental benefits for the area.”

Environmental benefits? What... Like rubbish all over the place, after people have eaten their buckets of chicken?

It'll add to the traffic on that site, it'll be more pollution from idle cars waiting to enter and leave the site, added to the rubbish and unhealthy food.

Oh dear, I know the mess that's created by McDonald's at the Wheatsheaf and the rats that are attracted to it.
It will be less competition for fuel in the area as well, believe it or not, they do compete.

I can see why we are obese with all these food shops opening.
There are supermarkets everywhere when in times gone by, we only had small corner shops.
Not surprising then that the UK has a problem with obesity and diabetes like America now.
