People are being warned of the consequences of not paying their energy bills, as a campaign to refuse payment gathers supporters.
The Don't Pay group, which is demanding a reduction of bills to an affordable level, says more than 80,000 people have pledged to cancel their direct debit payments from 1 October.
If you've reached State Pension age, your supplier can't disconnect you between 1 October and 31 March if either, you live alone or you only live with other people who have reached State Pension age, or children under 18 years old.
So if you're a pensioner or living with children, they can't cut you off anyway, even if you refuse to pay. It's a basic human right.

Good one. Those who don't want to pay for things, just stop paying. Can't be any simpler than that.

Some people steal petrol anyway.. they just put false plates on. They'll get caught eventually, because it gets pinged on anpr for the police

Do we pay VAT on things like electricity and gas?
If the government grab money off those things then they should scrap that and reintroduce it should things improve?
They seem to be giving grants away but people just want cheaper fuel.

I think we do. We pay tax on everything.Sunderland Nut wrote: ↑08 Aug 2022, 04:19 Do we pay VAT on things like electricity and gas?

Why don't they take away the standing charge as well? And tell them to invest in their own company in regards to green energy... ie: wind turbines, solar farms, instead of leeching off the government .this is tax payers money they're using whilst still making massive profits.
But there's no protests or complaints, we just take it. We don't half get ripped off by our own country
