Religious headgear and the DVLA
Religious headgear and the DVLA
Ian Harris, 51, has had his appeal turned down with the DVLA for the right to wear a colander on his head for his driving licence photograph. Mr Harris, who is a member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster says he has a right to wear it as it is part of his religion. Followers of the church are known as Pastafarians and honour the pasta strainer as a religious garment.
Mr Harris, from Brighton, UK says the strainer bowl is equivalent to Sikh or Muslim head dress and on religious grounds should be allowed to wear it.
Not to be put off by the decision of the DVLA, Mr Harris vows to keep on appealing until there is no more appeals left.
It will be a sad day should he be told to take off his religious symbol for the fascist DVLA don't you think?

At first I laughed
He has a point though because this is discrimination.

I don't know why some are taking the micky like. He is only expressing himself as we all do.
