SAFC to visit Wembley for the 2nd time this season

Has Sunderland ever been to Wemley twice in a season?

This is our SAFC Forum of course. You may chat about Sunderland AFC here together with any other footballing matters. Obviously, the Black Cats are the main focus. However, this is basically our football lounge.

Has Sunderland ever been to Wemley twice in a season?

Just wondering weather Sunderland AFC has ever had two Wembley finals in one season before?
I can't remember anything in my lifetime and I have no statistics at hand.
We have not won at Wembley since 1973 after about half a dozen appearances so here's hoping it is this time lucky.
Surely, we can't let that stroke of bad luck go on forever.
Let's see a classic match as well.

Good question but I doubt whether we have played in 2 Wembley cup finals in any season. It just sounds improbable.

I can't think of a time when the lads made two Wembley visits in a season. I doubt we did but some clever clogs might prove me wrong :lolboard:

Good call but the purists might say that one marks the end of one season and the other kicks off the next.
Good thinking though, it had my brain going into overtime.
