Good news or what?
That's pretty dramatic.

According to the media, they are suggesting that the vaccine doesn't work against the India variant..
We were warned by the Indian government and still we let them come into the country.
It's all on Boris, the balloon.

We're going to be doing this for the rest of our lives though if we keep filling our pants every time a variant comes around.

Whitty and van tam have said from the start that the vaccines can always be tweaked to adapt to any strains, variants or mutations, as they do with the flu vaccine.

So....do we panic, lock everyone down and close everything again? Or do we realise that now we have a vaccine, and it is possible that the efficacy could go down... Depending on these variants....it won't be to the extent that it was at the start when we had no vaccine at all..and we just crack on?

This government jumps from one extreme to another, and are always moving the goalposts imo.

Seems really convenient to me that we're really close to ending all restrictions, then 💥... Oh....this err.. India variant could be more transmissible.... we'll err.. have to keep this going for longer.

Might be just a coincidence though...that's all it is, I'm sure

I do believe that they want to end all these restrictions.

He has loads of advisors man.
It's not all down to one man, can you remember Cummings?
Boris might be top of the tree but there are loads behind him and all this is new and I think he's handled it all OK compared to some leaders.

Not closing the border to India for a week, thus allowing another new variant to take hold here was a stroke of genius..🙄🙄🙄🙄

He, together with his team of advisors, want to keep the borders open so we don't ruin the economy.
Closing the borders is ideal to stop the spread of Covid but we simply can't close the place down.
Rapid testing was always the way to go as people came into the country and we should be doing this.
It's not the end of the world and there will be a lot more smuggling diseases into the country in little dingies crossing the channel.
On some occasions, I get things wrong, but that proves I am not perfect, same as Boris.

On the 14th of May 2021, I reported that the City of Sunderland has had 22,175 cases of Coronavirus.

To date, exactly 12 weeks on, Sunderland has had 34,410 cases of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.

That is a difference of 12,235 which means an average increase of over 1,000 a week.
Even when this thing was at its worst I don't think we had that many cases every week!
