Roadworks in Sunderland right now

Post by Mawsey »

Anyone drove around the town at night lately? I can't ever remember so many road works. They are all over the shop. From Grangetown to Red House and beyond. And that's not to mention Cowies Roundabout area that sends you everywhere but where you want to be :argument:

I thought it was only me because I am sick of it making me late all the time.

I know the Hylton Road area gets affected and they usually start in the evenings but by the morning they stop work.
Maybe the Covid-19 virus stopped these jobs and now the highways department are just playing catch-up.

What was that you said again?

They do that to avoid a massive congestion but to be honest I can't wait until this section is finished because to get to the Wheatsheaf you have to go to the QAB and through Southwick.
You can see why they only allow traffic over there from South to North :argument: :argument: :argument:

God knows what they are doing out there with our council tax but traffic hold ups everywhere.

Glad you're having better luck!

From Boldon to Nissan - diversion of 7 miles last night!

Brilliant and the new dual carriageway will be open soon on the south side.
