20 MPH Roads All Over Sunderland
I don't know about you lot but I make my money through driving - mostly around the City of Sunderland.
These damn 20 MPH zones are everywhere.
You can understand them as you pass a school but only during school times and not 2 AM!
The vehicle I use has a recording facility and knows when you drive incorrectly so it's a pain.
If you only know of a few 20 MPH zones in Sunderland, trust me, they are all over the shop!
Bus timetables were never adjusted for them so I am told.
No good is it

Yes and usually as you pass schools with children breathing them all in.

Re: 20 MPH Roads All Over Sunderland
Most drivers ignore them anyway.. it's 20mph all the way through pallion right to the first lights before the hospital.
There's no need to have it all the way up to there, that's just ridiculous.

Pallion, Ford Estate and Pennywell have it bad and I must stick with the speed restrictions.Steve30000 wrote: ↑30 Oct 2021, 18:39 Most drivers ignore them anyway.. it's 20mph all the way through pallion right to the first lights before the hospital.

Those areas are probably the worst areas for long stretches but there are loads where they can catch you unaware.
Be careful everyone.

Has anyone ever been pulled over for doing 30 in a 20? Don't think the police bother enforcing it tbh.Sunderland Nut wrote: ↑31 Oct 2021, 03:45Pallion, Ford Estate and Pennywell have it bad and I must stick with the speed restrictions.Steve30000 wrote: ↑30 Oct 2021, 18:39 Most drivers ignore them anyway.. it's 20mph all the way through pallion right to the first lights before the hospital.

Re: 20 MPH Roads All Over Sunderland
Good point because before my vehicle was monitored I was followed by police and I've followed police and neither of us was observing the limit!Steve30000 wrote: ↑31 Oct 2021, 09:43

I've not heard anyone getting pulled over in those areas.
The thing is though, they can if they want to and I don't trust this box so I have to observe it now and these zones are everywhere.
The worst part is that some don't seem to have a signpost but have the paintwork on the road.
OK it could be me not seeing the signs but honestly, I have looked!

The council could have painted first and then are waiting for the sign posts.Jackal wrote: ↑31 Oct 2021, 13:26You haven't looked close enoughSunderland Nut wrote: ↑31 Oct 2021, 12:37
