I've just found out that Meat Loaf was a fan of Hartlepool Football Club
He was appearing on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM programme in 2003 and was asked whether he supported Manchester United or Liverpool etc.
Meat Loaf said that was boring and claimed Hartlepool attracted him due to the monkey hanging legend.
He did plenty of research into the club and continued the show with plenty of knowledge behind him.
RIP big fella.

Interesting.
I didn't particularly like Meat Loaf's music because they dragged on and on.
I notice he had a small part in The 51st State film and he played that decent enough.

If he ever went there then that song could truly be about a bat out of Hell.
