Sunderland vs Rotherham United, Team Sheet, Result & Reviews

English League One | Stadium of Light | Kick-off 7:45pm
The weather for the last league game on Wearside this season is cloudy with a slight wind but a decent day for football.

Sunderland AFC starting XI: Patterson, Wright, Batth, Doyle, Hume, Evans, Matete, O'Nien, Gooch, Broadhead, Stewart
SAFC substitutes: Hoffmann, Embleton, Xhemajli, Pritchard, Neil, Clarke, Roberts

A big game on Wearside and a win is important should we still want promotion.
If Fleetwood beat Sheffield Wednesday and the Black Cats win at SoL tonight, we will guarantee a place in the play-offs!
If Rotherham win, they would gain promotion in reality although that might not be mathematical, but only a fool would say otherwise.

This is it lads and lasses.
There will be around 35,000 at the game tonight, will you be there?

What was that you said again?

A defensive side guarantees a 1-1 draw is on the cards.

I love a good game and this one has all the hallmarks of that, I will be in the Roker End tonight - I wonder if we get a lap of honour. I always try and get to the last game, but this isn't our last game so it's weird.

It does look like this will be a defensive game but we have been scoring some good goals this season. I am backing Sunderland to win 3-1 :red-white:

Haway!

Rotherham had a free header - it's 1-0 to them I'm afraid!

Rotherham was a dirty team with tackles worthy of a sending off but we managed to avoid defeat and go into the last game with momentum.

It's any four teams from five now.
What a finish to the season.
