It wasn't mandatory, just up to individual corporations etc but I think they did the right thing.

I fully agree except that there will be emergency workers needed.
I bet also that some whinge and whine that the mourning will last 11 days or so.
This is an extraordinary event that we need to acknowledge.

The football authorities stepped in at the start of covid when they had no obligation to do so.
With that In mind, we knew they would step in for this sad event.
