Sunderland vs Preston North End - Team Sheet, Result & Reviews

English Championship | Stadium of Light | Kick-off 3 pm

The weather on Wearside today is far better than yesterday. It is a lot brighter with sunny spells but a little breezy.

Sunderland AFC starting XI: Patterson, O'Nien, Batth, Alese, Gooch, Evans, Neil, Clarke, Roberts, Embleton, Pritchard
SAFC substitutes: Bass, Dajaku, Diallo, Matete, Wright, Bennette, Ba

Preston have let very few goals in but have scored only a few.
Can the Black Cats break the Lilywhites down today and collect all three points?

My prediction is 2-0 to the lads.

I have respect for Preston North End but I agree we shouldn't have any worries today.
They have brought over 2,500+ fans today so we are on course for a cracking atmosphere as we have well over 40,000 supporters ourselves.

Come on :red-white:

Preston seems to be a no-nonsense team.

Alese managed to hook one off the line earlier but we have had a few chances of our own.
Good game so far but we need to be sharper up front.
You can see that Preston are a defensive team.

In reality, with Preston's record, you wouldn't expect a breakthrough until the second half but we still have a few minutes to play in this half first.

It has but it's not a bore draw anyway.

Get the kettle on because there's the half-time whistle.
Up to now, we might have been 1-0 down but luckily it is 0-0.
Better second-half?
Not sure because Preston is experienced.
Should we score it will have to be a special goal.

We are trying but up to now, no breakthrough.
It remains to be seen if our youngsters have the hunger to get stuck in and break these down.
I am still hopeful.
