Airshow cancelled because the city wants to aim to be carbon neutral
I could understand it if it was on every week... But once a year?
Even though there's airports with jumbo jets doing short haul flights and private jets flying about every day?
I like the sentiment, but it's a poor excuse imo.

They'll only put it somewhere else..it's clearly down to money.

The Labour Party trying to be morally sound with their green policy that shuts down the biggest free air show in Europe? Less enjoyment for the people in the north east and less money spent in the local economy. Like what we have always said - vote these people out!

That's just talk, I reckon it would be impossible.
I might have the day off today!

It is possible if we're committed to it. Electric vehicles, using wind, solar, sea turbines, nuclear. There's the green options, and we're in the early stages of electric planes.
But regarding the cancellation of the air show, it's got nothing to do with trying to go carbon neutral, we all know it's down to money

It's early, but hopefully they get to make jumbo jets electric

Well, that's what I initially thought you were talking about.Steve30000 wrote: ↑23 Oct 2022, 15:45https://www.electrive.com/2022/10/22/ev ... -eviation/

I think we are a long way off an electric jumbo jet though.
