Gus Poyet – The New Sunderland Head Coach

Gus Poyet – SAFC
Yet Another New Manager
Indeed, yet again, Sunderland have another new Manager or should we say Head Coach? Moreover, its a familiar thing to a Sunderland supporter right now. Gus Poyet now becomes the fifth Black Cats’ boss in six years. Of course, after the shock exit of Paolo Di Canio, Sunderland needed a big name manager. He is hoping to be the SAFC saviour and end the fans’ nightmare.
All in all, Ellis Short has the determination to make a success of things here at Sunderland AFC. In Gus Poyet, most supporters believe he will indeed be the one to wake up this sleeping giant.
After picking up only one point from a possible twenty this season, Sunderland are also bottom of the Premier League. So, let’s get one thing clear, finishing fourth bottom at the end of the season will do for most. Because to do so would mean Sunderland have broke the trend. Indeed, no team in this position has ever escaped the drop from the Premiership!
Welcome, Gus Poyet
Gus Poyet comes here with the blessing of most. Indeed, he didn’t get the hostile reception that Paolo Di Canio rudely got. In fact, Poyet was the obvious choice before Di Canio. So let us all hope that Poyet is the one to bring stability to the club, with that would come success on the field.
The Sunderland board did overlook Kevin Ball who has much respect at Sunderland. So, let’s hope Bally takes it on the chin and stays here where he belongs. With this in mind, maybe one day Bally will get the job, who knows? However, one thing is for sure, Sunderland have a proper management team now with the appointment of Poyet. Kevin Ball did not have the luxury of that!
Poyet’s full name is Gustavo Augusto “Gus” Poyet Domínguez and was born 15th November 1967 in Montevideo, Uruguay . From the Wearside Online and every Sunderland fan, we wish him the best of luck. Indeed, he is going to need it!
Finally
