Sunderland vs Cardiff City, Team Sheets, Result & Reviews
English Championship | Stadium of Light | Kick-off 3pm
The weather on Wearside today is dull, cold and rain threatens so let us hope that the lads can brighten up the day for us.
Team news - Sunderland make five changes for the team we put out on Wednesday and the big news is that Simms will start..
So, the team sheet is:
Sunderland AFC starting XI: Patterson, O'Nien, Wright, Batth, Cirkin, Neil, Ba, Roberts, Amad, Clarke, Simms.
SAFC substitutes: Bass, Evans, Embleton, Bennette, Pritchard, Matete, Hume.
If Cardiff wants to play football, we will win 3-0 but if they want to stifle the game, then it will be a tough one.
The Bluebirds come to Wearside to take on the mighty Black Cats.
Come 5 pm, we will know the result, fingers are crossed that we can get the first consecutive win of the season.

Haway the lads.
Five changes is pretty bold.
Whether the mid-week game took it out of a few players or whether Tony Mowbray is eyeing up our next game on Friday at Birmingham, I wouldn't like to guess.

There will be a canny crowd there today up to about 40,000 so a few members here will be at the game.
So far it is an open game and if Sunderland can tighten up and start to play we can control this game and go on to win.
So far both teams are giving the ball away.
Fact number one, Sunderland has not scored from a set piece all season, so let's hope we get a penalty and more importantly, score it!

Wake-up call.
Haway Sunderland, we made a balls up there.
Thank God Patterson guessed right and saved that penalty.
Still 0-0.
Come on.

We are playing like amateurs at the moment with no rhythm in my opinion.
Anyway, Sunderland gives a penalty away and Patta saves it.
As far as I'm concerned, that is a world-class save, well done Anthony Patterson.

Soft penalty. Don't know if our player did it deliberately but I think it was a soft penalty. Justice is done, well done Patter.

Have you been on the pop The game is not that bad, we have made a few changes so it is a bit disjointed at the moment. We can overcome Cardiff City because we have the spirit of Swansea on our side. Bite, bite

We don't have to play perfectly to win. At the end of the day, the game is dictated by the opposition and Cardiff are not playing well. Haway, give the lads some credit. We definitely are slightly better in this game.
