Tall Ships in Sunderland

Post by Trish »

The Tall Ships Races started at Sunderland on Saturday so they have left the River Wear now.
The ships were here for a few days before though and there was loads of things to see and do.
We spent time along St Peters Riverside but didn't get on board any of the ships but many people were doing that.
There was loads of things for sale and we got a sailors hat for the kids which they love.
We also sat in the sun on the bank watching a jazz band with a few beers.
There was just so much to do and everyone was having a good time.
I will be there again should the Tall Ships ever come back to Sunderland that's for sure.
Did anyone else go?
Anyway, here's a picture of the tall ships berthed over at the Hendon side of the river.

We went down on Friday and thought the event was well organised but far too many police on hand in my opinion.

Can't see it happening soon because this event is highly sought after.
Looks like we have had our turn for a while.

Not really a shock, you should expect a hike in prices at these sorts of events.

What was that you said again?
