Sunderland 2-0 Preston North End.
The starting eleven was:
Sunderland AFC: Patterson, Hume, Ballard, O'Nien, Alese, Ekwah, Neil, Pritchard, Bellingham, Clarke, Rusyn
SAFC substitutes: Bishop, Pembele, Burstow, Mayenda, Ba, Aouchiche, Seelt, Triantis, Rigg
Alex Pritchard scored first, and then Nazariy Rusyn scored the second.
The Ukrainian striker makes it Sunderland's first goal since April from a centre forward.
The lads return to the top six after this game.
We deserved the win and now Michael Beale has the headache of the Newcastle game at the weekend.
Two wins, a draw and defeat is not a bad return for the new head coach.
A win against the scum will have the crowd rocking and the parties will begin.

They will not be available until later.
It was on the telly so maybe they will be up sooner.
We controlled the game and the goals were canny.

Haway Michael Beale, we don't have to tell you just how important the next game is. It was a good game today and well worth the admission fee for the 42000 plus at the Stadium of Light. Get in!
I might have the day off today!

Things are looking up.
Yes, the Maggies game is going to be class if we knock them out of the cup, but I'm being realistic when I say that supporters will not be that bothered about that this season.
Onwards and upwards as they say.

The gaffer still has to win over the fans what better way than dump the scum out the cup. I'm sure he will have watched their defeat against Liverpool tonight.
